Dave Mackay
Mackay commenced his football playing career with hearts between 1953 and 1959 before signing for Tottenham Hotspur in 1959 and he went on to make over 325 appearances for the north London club, winning the ‘double’ in 1961 and the FA Cup in 1962 and 1967. He transferred to Derby County in 1968 and was named as the player of the year at the club at the end of his first season there.
Alan Hinton
Hinton signed for Derby in the year 1967 for £30,000 and soon became a favourite with the Derby County supporters. He enjoyed a great run of performances during the 1974 – 1975 title winning campaign. After a successful eight year spell playing for Derby he moved on to sign for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the North American soccer league.
Roy McFarland
McFarland is arguably one of the finest ever players to have played for Derby County. He made his debut playing for the club during the 1967 – 1968 campaign and soon established himself in the first team as a fine defender. He helped Derby County win two league title during the 1970’s and won 28 caps playing his international football for England. |
